Pink Floyd halten ihre Titel zusammen, denn sie wollen ihre Songs im Internet nicht einzeln, sonder nur als komplettes Plattenkonzept verkaufen. Aus diesem Grunde zieht es Pink Floyd nun vor Gericht.
Am Dienstag letzter Woche hat der Anwalt der legendären britischen Musiker Klage gegen die Plattenfirma EMI in London eingereicht. Unter anderem gehe es in dem Verfahren darum, ob EMI Lieder im Online-Shop einzeln verkaufen darf. Durch entsprechend geschlossene Verträge in der Vergangenheit ist vorgesehen, dass die Songs der Platten alle zusammengehören, so erläuterte Anwalt Robert Howe gegenüber der Presse. Ein weiteres Thema des Verfahrens ist die Berechnung der Online-Honorare. Howe sagte weiter, dass EMI laut Vertrag kein Recht darauf habe, die Lieder einzeln oder in einer anderen Kombination als sie auf den Original-Alben vorhanden sind, zu verkaufen.
EMI hat an dieser Stelle berechtigte Einwände und argumentiert, dass sich diese Vertragsklausel nur auf die eigentlichen Alben, nicht aber auf Online-Tracks, beziehe. Seit 1967 arbeitet Pink Floyd schon mit EMI zusammen. Bleibt abzuwarten, wohin der Streit Plattenfirma und Musiker noch bringen wird.
Im Jahre 1973 entstand das Pink-Floyd-Album „Dark Side Of The Moon“, dass zu den meistverkauften Alben aller Zeiten gehört. Der größte Erfolg von Pink Floyd war „Another Brick In The Wall“, das auf dem Album „The Wall“ am 30. November 1979 erstmals veröffentlicht wurde. Publiziert hat die Band es in drei teilen, die auf der ersten CD des Albums die Tracknummer 3,5 und 12 hatten. Der zweite Teil der Trilogie wurde als Single publiziert und brachte Pink Floyd einen Welthit.
